BRINGING THE FAMILY TOGETHER
What is the 1860 Club?
The 1860 Club is the unifying organization for the Regimental family and friends of The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada. It brings together members of the family from coast to coast, and around the world, to include the serving Regiment, Senate, Trust Fund, Museum, Association, Cadet Corps, and civilian supporters of the Regiment. Membership is complimentary, and open to serving and former members, as well as friends of the Regiment. As a Supporters’ Club, the 1860 Club is run by volunteers from across the Regimental Family.
How does the 1860 Club support the Regiment?
In addition to facilitating communication within the Regimental family and organizing social events, the 1860 Club supports the fundraising initiatives of the Trust Fund. As a charitable organization, The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada Trust Fund promotes the welfare and well-being of the Regiment and serving members—including deployed members and their families.
Furthermore, the Trust Fund provides support to the Regimental Band and Bugles, the Regimental Museum at Casa Loma, Regimental Memorials, and commemorative visits to the Regiment’s historic battlefields.
How does the 1860 club support the Association?
The 1860 Club will empower and extend the reach of the Association and its branches through access to the 1860 Club communication network. It will also help build membership, as when one joins the 1860 Club they will have the option of sharing their information with the Association. The Association will then contact the member to facilitate membership at the National or Branch level.
